MD Shabab Anwar
Founder and Head, Academic Division
As a Founder of Alig Mentors, Mr Shabab Anwar has played a key role in setting up this organisation. He realised the need for such a mentorship platform after a month of getting into IIT Bombay which became a reality with the help of dedicated individuals who shared similar visions and joined the team.
He has done his Bachelor with Honours in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He went on to pursue his Masters in Biotechnology from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay.
His credentials in the competitive exam include securing AIR 30 in IIT JAM Biotechnology, AIR 08 in AIIMS M. Biotechnology, and AIR 03 in GAT-B besides qualifying TIFR JGEEBILS and GATE Life Sciences with AIR 173. He has also appeared in interviews for MSc Neuroscience at NBRC and for the Integrated PhD program at IISc Bangalore and JNCASR Bangalore.

Mohd. Sarim Siddiqui
Coordinator, Abroad Mentorship Program
Mohd. Sarim Siddiqui hails from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh and he has completed his Bachelor with Honours in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh in 2018. After a short stint of pursuing a master’s degree from India, he moved to the University of Manitoba, Canada to pursue an MSc (Research).
His credentials in competitive exam preparation are remarkable. What stands out among them is his AIR 37 in GATE Life Sciences and AIR 01 in both the PGIMER MSc Biophysics and JMI MSc Biophysics Entrance Exam. He also secured AIR 36 in GAT-B. He has the distinction of appearing in interviews for the Integrated PhD program at NCBS Bangalore, IISER Pune, IISER Trivandrum and RCB Faridabad.
He brought forth the idea of an Abroad Mentorship Program and committed himself to lead the Abroad Mentorship division, which we started from session 2023-24.
Kulsum Fatima
Senior Mentor Life Sciences & Coordinator, GAT-B Division
She epitomizes the quote that “years of struggle do make a beautiful sense in the long run”. Her stupendous achievement of AIR 04 and AIR 02 in the AIIMS M. Biotechnology and Medical Biochemistry Exam bears witness to it. She has also completed her Bachelor with Honours in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.
She has also qualified for the GATE Life Sciences and TIFR JGEEBILS Exam held in 2021. She was also shortlisted for the MSc Neuroscience course at NBRC but her destiny has a different calling.

Sabiha Parveen
Senior Mentor Chemistry & Coordinator, Mentorship Division
Being a girl and coming from a rural humble background, her journey to IIT Bombay is a story of grit and determination to realize her dreams. She has an excellent academic record in school. 100 marks in Chemistry and 99 marks each in Physics and Mathematics on her 12th board is a testimony of the same.
Her competitive exam credentials include securing AIR 26 in IIT JAM Chemistry 2021 and AIR 14 in CSIR NET Chemical Sciences, 2022. She has also secured AIR 112 in GATE Chemistry. Her story has resonated and inspired our students especially young girls with similar dreams to make an impact. She is currently handling the Mentorship division at Alig Mentors. While at IIT Bombay, she added another feather to her milestone by publishing a research paper based on her master’s Thesis research work.
She believes that inner satisfaction comes from helping people in a meaningful manner and empowering the community with the means of education.
Mohd. Ahmad
Mentor, Life Sciences
Mohd. Ahmad obtained his Bachelor with Honours degree in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh in 2021. He completed his Master in Biotechnology from the School of Biotechnology, JNU, New Delhi in 2023. Hailing from a small village in Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, his journey to AMU and then to JNU is inspirational. He is currently a DBT JRF in IISc Bangalore.
Securing AIR 35 in GATE Life Science, 2021 was a big milestone in his journey. He comes with good experience in interviews for the Integrated PhD program as he himself had the opportunity to appear in interviews at TIFR Hyderabad, IISER Mohali, NBRC, NIBMG RCB Faridabad etc.
“He loves and lives Urdu and Urdu poetry and is always interested in discussing that over a cup of tea with anyone, anytime, anywhere.”
Faizan Basheer
Mentor, Physics
Mr. Faizan has completed his BTech from Kashmir University and MTech from NIT Srinagar. He is working as a Senior Physics faculty for NEET and JEE Advanced in Aakash Institute and has previously worked for Allen. He brings in his subject matter expertise to help our students assist with the physics syllabus for IIT JAM, TIFR and GAT-B.
Aliza Zainab
Mentor Life Sciences & Coordinator, Outreach Programs
Ms Aliza Zainab completed her Bachelor with Honours in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh in 2022. She was selected for the Masters in Biotechnology Program at AIIMS, New Delhi for the session 2022-24. Besides this, she has also qualified for GATE XL 2022, and TIFR 2022 and appeared for Interview for Int. PhD at IISER Pune.
She has been a student at Alig Mentors since the very first session, now that she has also joined Alig Mentors as a Mentor since 2023, we are more than happy to benefit from her experience. She is currently handling the Outreach Program section at Alig Mentors.

Sana Inam
Mentor Life Sciences & Coordinator, AIIMS Division
Her story from being a student at Alig Mentors to joining us back as a Mentor is truly inspirational. She came from a technical background to pursue core science. She did her BSc in Medical Electrophysiology from JMI, New Delhi and went on to pursue her Masters in Biotechnology from AIIMS, New Delhi. She has been working with us since 2023 and currently handling the AIIMS Division.
Shadab Alam
Mentor, Life Sciences
Mr Shadab Alam completed his Bachelor with Honours in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh in 2021. He completed his Masters in Medical Biochemistry from PGIMER, Chandigarh in 2023 and is currently working as a JRF in the department of Orthopaedics PGIMER, Chandigarh. He has also qualified for GATE XL and CSIR NET Life Sciences.

Aliya Qamar
Mentor Life Sciences & Coordinator, IIT JAM and GATE XL Division
Ms Aliya Qamar completed her Bachelor with Honours in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh in 2023. Her competitive exam credentials include securing AIR 51 in IIT JAM BT, 2023; AIR 95 IN GATE XL, 2023 and AIR 32 in GAT-B. She cleared interviews for the MSc Life Sciences Program at IISc as well as IISER Bhopal and she joined IISc Bangalore for further studies.
She has also been a student at Alig Mentors and joined Alig Mentors as a Mentor in 2023. She is currently handling the IITJAM and GATE XL divisions at Alig Mentors.

Uves Arshad
Manager, Graphic and Web Design
Mr. Uves did his Bachelor’s in Chemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, AMU in 2023. He has He brings in his passion to contribute to the community through his skills. Uves is very active and has helped us design our web portal. He is always available to design any graphics that we need.
